In "Hakuouki Shinkai: Tsukikage no Shou," you can pursue Hijikata Toshizo, Okita Souji, Sannan Keisuke, Yamazaki Susumu, Iba Hachiro, and Kazama Chikage.
"Hakuouki Shinkai: Ginsei no Shou" includes the stories of the other six characters: Saito Hajime, Toudou Heisuke, Harada Sanosuke, Nagakura Shinpachi, Soma Kazue, and Sakamoto Ryouma.
The "Hakuouki" series tells the story of samurai fighting for their beliefs during the turbulent Bakumatsu period. This particular work focuses on the theme of "Night and Four Seasons," depicting the daily moments and stories behind various events that the protagonist and the pursuable characters experience together outside of the main storyline. The game consists of three parts: "Common Stories" which record the daily life of the Shinsengumi through spring, summer, autumn, and winter, "Individual Stories" which portray the emotional journey with each pursuable character, and "Supplemental Stories" which recount the reasons and consequences behind the Shinsengumi's travels.

December, Bunkyu 3rd Year— Chizuru Yukimura arrives in Kyoto searching for her father's whereabouts and, by a twist of fate, joins forces with the Shinsengumi, getting swept up in the tidal wave of the Bakumatsu period.
During her days with them, despite constantly living amidst the flash of swords, in the gaps between the cycles of time, they must have gazed at the hazy moonlit night and felt the changes of the seasons in the forest.
This story is a collection of small episodes that occur during the ordinary days from the time Chizuru arrives in Kyoto and witnesses their struggles until the end.
