The Australian Border Force (Customs) has advised that industrial action by its staff will be taking place in the inbound Australian Offices of Exchange from Wednesday, 4 November onwards, during the peak processing times for inbound mail.
Therefore, Australia Post is expecting a disruption in the handling of all inbound mail this week and early next week, as well as possible ‘carry over’ effects after the end of the industrial action, such as backlogs of mail held up during the industrial action.
Australia Post is currently working with Customs management to attempt to minimize the impacts.
